Ruby Bains
Ruby Bains, Master of Counselling: Registered Clinical Counsellor #14210
I have 9 years of clinical experience, post Masters, in substance misuse (as well as process dependencies such as shopping, eating disorders, sexual activity), anxiety and depression, anger, grief and loss, psychiatric concerns, relationship, parenting and cross-cultural concerns, and have been in the field for a total of 14 years. I tend to utilize a holistic approach, drawing from a number of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, existential, narrative and emotion-focused. I believe that each client is unique and deserves tailor made synergy.
I wish to express my gratitude for being granted access into the depths of one’s soul. In a collaborative search for peace, I hope to create a safe and comfortable environment for all those I connect with. I hope that in our time spent together we are able to mitigate, what we perceive as stress, if only for a moment. I do so by advocating mindfulness, self-development and actualization practices. My hope is to work side by side with my fellow human beings while supporting them during difficult times. I look forward to our paths crossing.
Kindly note that I conduct therapy utilizing the telehealth modality. This means that I am able to connect with clientele all over British Columbia, Canada virtually: video, telephone or e-mail (encrypted). I have served clients throughout BC and I have worked in many cities such as Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Further, I am familiar with the resources throughout the Lower Mainland.

Nissa Francis
Nissa Francis, Master of Social Work: Registered Social Worker #15607
With over 12 years of experience in mental health counselling, I am a Registered Social Worker dedicated to empowering individuals on their path to well-being. My career in Canada began in Toronto, where I worked extensively with a diverse clientele, including immigrants and refugees, gaining valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by various communities. In mid-2022, I relocated to British Columbia, driven by a desire to embrace new challenges and opportunities for professional growth. This move has allowed me to deepen my self-awareness and expand my skill set, furthering my commitment to helping clients navigate complex life pathways with confidence and resilience.
Areas of practice: Autism, psychosis, depression, substance use, couples, families, and youth (14+).
My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in empathy, non-judgment, and
acceptance. I am trained in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for
complex mental health disorders from the University of Toronto. This advanced
training has enabled me to assist clients in identifying and challenging negative
thought patterns, exploring how thoughts impact emotions and behaviors, and
restructuring distorted beliefs. My therapeutic process is collaborative, emphasizing genuine dialogue to support each client’s unique healing journey.
In addition to CBT, I incorporate various therapeutic modalities into my practice, including Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness approaches, trauma-informed care, and Motivational Interviewing. These techniques allow me to offer a versatile and tailored approach to meet the diverse needs of my clients.
Beyond my professional life, I am a spiritual individual who finds relaxation and
renewal through yoga, meditation, long drives, and spending time in nature. Driven by my belief in a holistic approach to wellness, I am committed to promote long term wellness and healing of my clients by integrating physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I understand that each person’s journey to recovery is unique, and I strive to provide a personalized approach that aligns with each individual’s specific needs and goals.
